Tribute to Fairy Tale is a meditation on the passage of time, the loss of curiosity and the bittersweet nature of memories. It captures the transition from childhood to adulthood, where fantasies, dreams, and the magical simplicity are left behind. It is an elegy to the human experience of growing up.
Jungian Prayer was born from my lifelong quest for self-expression and meaning. Co-writing the lyrics with James Hollis, one of the greatest Jungians of all time, was an honor. Together we distilled the essence of Depth Psychology into a lyrical invocation. I had to live long enough to truly feel these words.
Greenland is a sonic imprint of one of the most transformative chapters of my life, the culmination of a 1,5-year-long stay in that remote land. I wrote it in 2009. It echoes an intimacy with time itself, and the moment I left a part of me behind in the endless white. It relates to the sub-arctic like Call of the Wild to White Fang.
Sub-arctic is a soul's confession of exile and return. Against glaciers and northern lights, the song charts the quiet harm of disconnection and the courageous vow to embrace the roaring river of life once more. It is a song for anyone returning from an exile and for everyone reuniting with the mammalian self, that fierce creature within who never stopped yearning for expression and belonging.
Guiding Star….just one note, UFO is my car’s license plate.
A No♪e to the listener
I am the conscious architect of my music. Every sound, every silence, every layer is chosen with intention. Except for the first two songs (Greenland and Guiding Star), each piece you hear is the result of roughly a month of full time work. The process includes recording, deep interaction with AI tools, and most importantly, painstaking manual editing. That final phase accounts for about 70 percent of the effort. Please don’t assume that because AI is involved, the music simply appears at the click of a button. As of today, AI is nowhere near that point. It is a collaborator, a source of raw material, not a composer. I shape it, challenge it, push it, and refine it until the sound reflects what I feel, what I have lived, and what I want to say. This is not fast music. This is crafted experience. It is a voice that speaks where language ends, my lyrical blog.
I am self-taught. Over the past 20 years, I have written extensively and played a bit, though I never learned music production. Grateful for the new technology that makes this creative journey possible.
In my early twenties, I wandered through cities, weaving melodies into the air, my music carrying me as much as I carried it. I played for strangers, for the open sky, for the sheer love of sound. Back then, each coin was a note of affirmation. Today, the music itself is enough.
My music, above all, is about the lyrics.
My primary art was photography. You can view it here: www.fiannpaul.com 95% of the photos were taken by 2013, long before AI times.
